The world as we know it today would come to a halt were it not for the power produced behind the scenes by gas or combustion turbine engines. Gas turbine engine power airplanes, are the energy producing force in natural gas power plants, and are key players in a number of industrial applications, including cogeneration, where excess thermal heat is put to practical use. Built to withstand heavy and continuous use, there comes a point in which even the best made turbines require parts and servicing to stay in top working order. Routine maintenance and modernization of gas turbine controls and fuel systems, instruments, valves, emissions reduction controls, an other components provide protection, peace of mind, and the lowest overall cost of operation over time.

On rare occasions, parts break, and if you have not contracted for GE turbine parts and services previously, you could experience downtime unless you previously located replacement parts for sale, and stocked up on those most likely to be needed. There are quite a number of parts of a gas turbine, including large assembly concerns such as turbine and compressor casings, exhaust systems and inlet systems. Hardware needs replacing every now and then, and the needs are specific: twist locks, TP bullhorns, gaskets, lock plates, seals, nuts and bolts, and similar items. There are a number of sensors that need to be kept in top order: flame detectors, vibration sensors, thermocouple modules and temperature and pressure sensors. Hot gas path parts endure a lot of stress and include items such as shrouds, cross fire tubes, combustion liners, compressor blades and fuel nozzles, among others. Miscellaneous items such as spark plugs, filters, brushings, pumps, bearings and the like are always parts you’ll be glad you had on hand should the need for them arise.

Whether you choose to stock up on your gas turbine parts or not, it’s important to have an account with a qualified provider of such necessary components for when the time comes that you need them. The old adage, “a stitch in time saves nine” applies, even when it comes to turbine controls and the operational efficiency of gas turbines!
